I’ve found that glitter-free, natural-looking, day-light-friendly highlighters are exceedingly difficult to find, and this product is among the few that I like. From what I can see, this product does not have any glitter in the swatches. It’s a glorious glow on the cheeks without looking too shiny and keeps its finish throughout the wear.

Cream Color Bases come in packaging similar to MAC’s blushes and eye shadows. Size wise, they are bigger than an eyeshadow and smaller than the blushes – 3.2 g/0.12 for price of 18.50.

MAC Cream Colour Bases are multitasking products that can be used alone or as a base to enhance makeup. I have the shade Luna which I use mainly as a highlighter. Luna is icy white with pearl sheen. I apply it on my cheekbones, brow bones, inner corners of my eyes, down the bridge of my nose and on my cupid’s bow. It gives a beautiful subtle sheen once it is blended into the skin, so natural and perfect for day looks as for nights too.

The only problem I’ve run into with this product has to do with its creamy nature – sadly, the glow does not last long, it disappears after a couple of hours or so. I think this would work particularly well in the fall/winter seasons when the weather is drier and a glowy/dewy complexion is needed to wake up any dull winter skin. I can imagine this product can be a real issue with combination to oily skin and I say use with caution. A good option might be to set it with a powder highlight in the same shade. Although, this may be something you need to touch up with powder throughout the day despite setting it earlier, so just keep that in mind when considering weather/skin type.

Despite that mishap, I look forward to using this every day.

    1. Hey!

I have fair skin and I can’t decide to choose pearl or luna? I want natural looking like I’m like that way. Which one is more natural looking on fair skin? Thanks!

      1. Both of these shades are great for pale skin, bat I personally prefer Luna. It’s my go-to highlighter and in warmer months when I am tanned I would switch for MAC Hush. All the best
